Travel theme: Silver

A little bit later than usual, thanks to a lengthy power cut, but finally, here’s this week’s travel theme. The sun is currently hiding behind thick layers of dark cloud, and although the days are supposed to be getting longer, it doesn’t feel like it right now. Still, up ahead I have caught a glimpse of the proverbial silver lining… dark sky, sliver lining, cloud, travel, travelogue, photography, ailsa prideaux-mooney …and I’m hopeful that sunny days will soon be here again. In the meantime, here are some other silvery sights I’ve spotted on my travels. First up, a giant silver needle known as The Spire in the centre of Dublin. dublin, ireland, spire, spike, travel, travelogue, photography, ailsa prideaux-mooney

There was a silver street performer in Boston

…and a silvery sculpture in Seattle

…silver skyscrapers in Philadelphia

…a silver tunnel on the way from Yale University to the New Haven train station…

and a burst of silver fireworks over Manhattan celebrating Fleet Week.

About ailsapm

Hi there! I’m Ailsa Prideaux-Mooney. I’ve lived in many places, and travelled to many more. I had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time. I climbed a castle wall in Czesky Krumlov, abseiled down cliffs to go caving in the west of Ireland, slept on the beach in Paros, got chased by a swarm of bees in Vourvourou (ok that wasn’t fun, but it was exciting), learned flower arranging in Tokyo, found myself in the middle of a riot in Seoul, learned to snowboard in Salzburg, got lost in a labyrinth in Budapest and had my ice cream stolen by a gull in Cornwall. And I’m just getting started. If you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read so far, I’d love you to follow my travelogue - wheresmybackpack.com - and remember, anyone who tries to tell you it’s a small world hasn’t tried to see it all.
