I took far too many photos of those cheeky little ducklings during my visit to Magnuson Park, so I had to put them to good use in this week’s travel theme. Here are a few of the ripples they made, along with some other memorable ripples I’ve encountered.
The ripples of the earth – the red rocks of Zion Canyon in Utah.
The rippling lights of the Multiverse installation in Washington DC.
Ripples of laughter and ripples of colour during the Holi Festival of Colour.
Are you ready to make waves? If you would like to join in this week’s travel theme (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Ripples
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS – if you’re already following on WordPress.com, remember I’m getting ready to switch website hosts so sign up for email or RSS to keep up to date on posts.
I can’t wait to see your interpretation of this week’s theme. Let’s start a ripple effect!

Wild waves and raves. Amazing. The first pix is pretty – natural winner, but love that Multiuniverse installation in DC (am putting that definitely on a “to visit” list)

Hi Ailsa
ripples in the sand at de hoop…
here’s my post for this week
Your “Ripples” post not only inspired me to search for ripples, camera in hand, but it also gave me a word I’ve needed for a story I’m translating. I wanted to say undulating without saying undulating. I’ve now changed the word to ‘rippling’. Thanks for all your inspiring posts, Ailsa.
I thought I would give it a try: http://pat666.wordpress.com/2013/06/27/ailsas-photo-challenge-ripples/
