Travel theme: Near

Is Tuesday too late for a travel theme? My weekend turned into something unexpectedly tumultuous and I’ve just come up for air. I know next weekend is drawing near (not near enough for all those Monday to Friday-ers) but perhaps there is still time to fit in a travel theme, so here are a few of my attempts to get as near as possible to the subject matter, starting with a closeup of some frosted leaves in the dead of winter.

And at the opposite side of the seasonal circle, a burst of summery yellow.

A fresh splash of springtime lilac…

…and a steamy look at fungi growing on a tree in a very humid part of the Cascades.

…bu my favourite close encounter was with this lovely creature up on top of Hurricane Ridge in the Olympics – she came so near I could smell her musky scent, she was beautiful.

Hi there! I’m Ailsa Prideaux-Mooney. I’ve lived in many places, and travelled to many more. I had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time.     From near and far… they’ll all take part in your challenge, whatever day of the week you post it!! 😉 I understand your plight… we had a nearly near perfect weekend… NOT! Minding grand-kids is hard work… leaving grandparents in a state of near exhaustion! 😉
