After my twirl around Seattle’s giant, glowing, singing flowers, I am looking at a few other illuminated sights I’ve spotted on my travels. First up, the amazing illuminated Multiverse walkway at the National Gallery of Art in DC.
Here’s a bike taxi reflected in a pool of rainwater against the neon illuminations of New York’s Times Square.
Then there is the Chihuly glass flower ceiling at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the epicentre of illumination.
Now it’s over to you to shed a little light on this week’s theme. If you would like to join in (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Illuminated
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS
Lighten up!

There are two kinds of light — the glow that illumines, and the glare that obscures. – James Thurber

I’ll take the multiverse, please.

The glass flowers are really beautiful. My contribution is less poetic. A huge arena, coldly glimmering in the Swedish winter’s night: http://vackrare.com/2014/01/13/illuminated

Hi Ailsa loving those floating glass flowers at the Bellagio ! Think the walkway would be quite something to see … wouldn’t be surprised if they had to have timed tickets 😉
