Seeing as I’ve just written about crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on my road trip, I thought I’d have a look at some other bridges I’ve encountered on my travels. From my hometown, here is Dublin‘s Beckett Bridge.
Just north of New York City on the Hudson Line is the legendary Sleepy Hollow, home to spooky graveyards and the Headless Horseman Bridge.
A rosy sunset over a bridge along Philadephia‘s Schuylkill River, on the way to 30th Street Station.
Are you ready to cross the bridge when you come to it? If you would like to join in the travel theme (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Bridges
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.
Looking forward to your post – remember, a bridge too far might just be worth the effort.

Thanks again Ailsa for your creativity! How on earth do you keep up! 🙂

Hey there Nicole, I’m not really sure how I manage to keep up, the challenges seem to get busier every week – probably why it’s taken me over a week to work through everyone’s bridges response. Man oh man, I love your photos, each one is stunning, but for sheer wow factor, that shot of you crossing the rocky bridge in Vanoise National Park blew me away. There’s something about those soaring mountains behind you that is just so spectacular. xxx
Thanks Ailsa! Yes I can only imagine going through all those comments! I think your challenge gets more likes and participation than the Weekly Photo Challenge! 🙂

Whew, and a very busy week, I’m still playing catchup! Lovely shots, Lynne, that top bridge looks a little menacing!
It looks like the spine of some rather large extinct animal.

I will take more notice of bridges in the future and take more photos of them. Your themes help to open up my eyes to more photo opportunities Thank Ailsa.
Yaay, you’re welcome. pommepal. Love the Botanic Gardens bridge, it’s too cute for words.
I’m still working on the roads. (well not physically!) I have had a busy week with my daughter visiting from NZ and only see her once a year then only for 5 days, but hope to get a post down before your next theme comes winging in to my in-box
Haha, looking forward to your post, pommepal, I bet you’ve travelled along some amazing roads. xxx
Hope to get it together tomorrow
