Travel theme: Abroad

Oops, I’ve had my head in the clouds day-dreaming about vacations, I haven’t been abroad in far too long, so I’m making do with a travel theme about what abroad means to me, starting off with exotic foliage in Antigua…

Abroad also makes me think of fabulous ruins, like the Circus Maximus of ancient Rome…

Hi there! I’m Ailsa Prideaux-Mooney. I’ve lived in many places, and travelled to many more. I had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time. I climbed a castle wall in Czesky Krumlov, abseiled down cliffs to go caving in the west of Ireland, slept on the beach in Paros, got chased by a swarm of bees in Vourvourou (ok that wasn’t fun, but it was exciting), learned flower arranging in Tokyo, found myself in the middle of a riot in Seoul, learned to snowboard in Salzburg, got lost in a labyrinth in Budapest and had my ice cream stolen by a gull in Cornwall. And I’m just getting started.     Seeing your serene photo of the ship on still water makes me miss the sea. For me, living abroad has become “home” as I’ve spent most of the past few years staying mobile in countries with languages I have only recently learned, and cuisine that, while not as exotic as the carrot pizza, took plenty of getting used to.

      Emilio, I was freaked out when I saw it but when I tasted it, OMG, it was ridiculously good. Just thinking about it now, I want a carrot pizza. I may have to make one! 🙂
