Travel theme: Pairs

Just as the two main US presidential candidates announced their running partners, a wedding invitation arrived in the post for me. It seems like everyone is getting paired up these days, so here’s a travel theme to reflect that, starting with a strange pair of statues in a New York subway station.

These two gulls were getting cozy on a Long Island beach.

How about this startlingly pink and frilly pair of short shorts on sale along the New Jersey boardwalk.

My favourite footwear, a trusty pair of jungle boots that have travelled with me through jungles and deserts and even climbed volcanoes.

Hi there! I’m Ailsa Prideaux-Mooney. I’ve lived in many places, and travelled to many more. I had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time. I climbed a castle wall in Czesky Krumlov, abseiled down cliffs to go caving in the west of Ireland, slept on the beach in Paros, got chased by a swarm of bees in Vourvourou (ok that wasn’t fun, but it was exciting), learned flower arranging in Tokyo, found myself in the middle of a riot in Seoul, learned to snowboard in Salzburg, got lost in a labyrinth in Budapest and had my ice cream stolen by a gull in Cornwall. And I’m just getting started.       They sure made me laugh. The guy on the left was totally trying to flirt with the one on the right and she was entirely unimpressed and ended up dumping him for another gull. I watched their antics for a good 20 minutes. 🙂
