After experiencing first hand the bond between mother and baby elk on the American River, I started to look through my photos for examples that might suggest connection. There’s the personal connection, like these newlyweds in Times Square
The parental connection as father and daughter enjoy Holi Festival of Colour.
How about the connection between best friends? This next photo just makes me laugh and I’ve been waiting for a chance to post it since I spotted these guys, side by side, watching the world go by.
Then there are roads that connect different places…
…and bonds that connect different species.
I’m hoping you feel a connection to this week’s theme because now it’s your turn. If you would like to join in (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Connections
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS – I’m in the process of changing over to a new website host but will give you all a heads up when the changeover happens.

It’s a lovely theme and your photos are stunning. I love the colorful one with father and daughter.
