Watching the sun set along the Oregon Coast I saw a couple walking hand in hand along the beach.
A little later, watching the same sun set a few miles further along the coast, I watched a couple of children walk along the shore, the little boy reaching for the girl’s hand.
It seemed to be the perfect theme for this week, so I went rummaging through my photos for other couples I have photographed. Here’s what I came up with:
Now over to you. If you’d like to join in this week’s travel theme, here’s what to do:
- Create your own post featuring couples and title it Travel Theme: Couples
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes
I can’t wait to see your daring duos, your perfect pairs and your terrible twins.

I love your flamingo couple. And the children. And the parrots. For my entry, I worked out as I was preparing this blog post that my photo of a couple of guys mucking around is actually their play on a famous couple from history: http://soundslikewish.wordpress.com/2012/10/19/ailsas-travel-photo-challenge-couples/
Brilliant, Bathsheba in the bath, loved it, Trish. xxx

Hi everyone,
As they say all good things comes in three’s, here ‘s my third and final entry for this week
http://dauwpics.blogspot.be/2012/10/de-oude-geliefden.html
Have a great weekend!
I love your photos, they are amazing 😉
I’m flattered, thank you Dana =)
I agree with Dana, Dauw – you take fantastic photos. This one is just stunning. xxx Ailsa
Thanks Ailsa,
The story behind it, is rather special too. I took it on Valentine this year as a birthdaygift, during what happened to be the last feast of “the bridegroom” with his best friends; a group of elderly people (among them my parents), he used to go out with, once in a forthnight.
They ‘d organized this big “ensconced” wedding with him as the groom and one of his ladyfriends (a widow) as the bride, for his birthdayparty.
Sadly, he passed away last month. As he was the popular elders of the group, you can imagine these wedding pictures now have become for all of his friends, a dear memory to treasure…
Kind regards from Dauw
Dauw, what a wonderful gift you gave to him, and to his friends. Such a lovely story! xxx Ailsa

Yaay, welcome back news – and congrats on your first exhibit – way to go! Love the wine bottle/glass combo! 🙂
Thank you!! I like that one too! Sorry I missed a few weeks of themes – I was posting Friday photos from my European trip and that trumped all others. But I will definitely check in to see what you and the rest of the gang have been up to!! 🙂 Thanks for swinging by to check out my entry and for another great theme!! AND for the inspiration!!!
Good to have you back, I’ve been busy travelling myself and it’s been crazy trying to keep up with everyone’s wonderful entries! Just checked out your recent posts – loved the Frankfurt one, I worked there for a while, pretty great city!
Oooh, how cool!! We would move there – or anywhere on our travels in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose. We didn’t have much time in Frankfurt but went to a residential area right across the bridge and we just loved it. I could see that it would be a great place to spend some time. Thanks so much for checking them out. And welcome back!!
