I’ve seen all manner of impressive Christmas trees this year, from tall and theatrical to small and sweet. Fir, pine, spruce and artificial; some of them elegantly dressed in all white or blue and silver; others a delightful jumble of baubles in every colour of the rainbow. I’ve enjoyed and admired each and every one, but the tree that stole my heart and won my vote for cutest and most creative tree I’ve seen this year was the one my brother and sister-in-law came up with – a simple string of fairy lights pinned to the wall in the shape of a Christmas tree. It was so adorable I am stealing this idea next year.
