Walking through Nisqually Wildlife Refuge, my eye was caught by a lopsided, windswept tree that was tilting defiantly into the wind. It made for such a beautiful sight I started looking for other off-kilter photos I’ve taken recently.
A little girl was playing on the steps leading down to the water at Alki Beach and I got this shot of her launching into a jump. The slope of the steps accentuates the fun in the shot.
Then there are the slanted submarine parts that make up the Fin Project in Seattle’s Magnuson Park.
Still messing around on Alki Beach as the temperatures in Seattle soared, I was trying to capture a different perspective of the surf breaking on the sand as the sun went down. Instead of going for a predictable horizontal shot, I tilted my camera to get a wedge of golden sand in the top corner.
If you’re inclined (oh dear, my puns are getting worse each week!) to join in this week’s travel theme (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Tilted
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS – I’m in the process of changing over to a new website host but will give you all a heads up when the changeover happens. If you’re following via email there won’t be a change but if you’re following via WordPress you will need to sign up for email or RSS.
Looking forward to seeing your slant on this week’s theme.
