Travel theme: Land meets Water

It’s no secret I love the beach – although I actually prefer the rainy off-season when there are no tourists around and there’s less chance of sunburn! But this week I wanted to look at all places where water and land intersect, so that includes beaches like Kailua Bay in Hawaii

…dramatic coastlines like the stunning Oregon Coast

… and great lakes set against hulking volcanoes like Reflection Lake by Mount Rainier …

I am an intelligent river which has reflected successfully all the banks before which it has flowed by meditating only on the images offered by those changing shores. – Victor Hugo

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart’s core. – W.B. Yeates (The Lake Isle of Innisfree)
