I went for a walk in the very early morning when a thick layer of frost covered everything and took some shots of gnarled, brown, barely-there leaves given a new lease of beauty by glittering ice crystals.
The results struck me as quite abstract, insofar as the subject matter itself played a secondary role to the form, colour and texture of the photograph, so I went shuffling through my travel photos to see if I could come up with other attempts at abstract. The first shot that came to mind was this one of a vat of white M&Ms in Manhattan.
