Travel theme: Naughty or Nice

Ho ho ho, it’s the week before Christmas and Santa’s probably already decided whether you’ve made the naughty list or the nice list this year. But I’m hoping there’s still a little time left to change his mind, so here are a few of the naughty and nice photos I’ve snapped on my travels.

Sticking used gum anywhere but in the garbage would definitely qualify you for the naughty list, but I promise I never, ever contributed to Seattle’s Gum Wall of yore (it had a major cleaning job done on it this past November so is looking decidedly less gummy at present).

Nice – or playing nice at least – this little raccoon in Central Park who won me over with his little button nose and giant paws.

Naughty and nice at the same time – a good old-fashioned southern joggling board in Charleston where nice young ladies and nice young gents could innocently get up to no good.

Which list will you be on this year, and would you like to create your own interpretation of this week’s theme? If you would like to join in (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:

  • Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Naughty or Nice
  • Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
  • Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
  • Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.

About ailsapm

Hi there! I’m Ailsa Prideaux-Mooney. I’ve lived in many places, and travelled to many more. I had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time. I climbed a castle wall in Czesky Krumlov, abseiled down cliffs to go caving in the west of Ireland, slept on the beach in Paros, got chased by a swarm of bees in Vourvourou (ok that wasn’t fun, but it was exciting), learned flower arranging in Tokyo, found myself in the middle of a riot in Seoul, learned to snowboard in Salzburg, got lost in a labyrinth in Budapest and had my ice cream stolen by a gull in Cornwall. And I’m just getting started. If you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read so far, I’d love you to follow my travelogue - wheresmybackpack.com - and remember, anyone who tries to tell you it’s a small world hasn’t tried to see it all.

Had to laugh. At first glance, the top picture looked a lot like a wall of used condoms. I thought that was why it was naughty. 🙂

I’ve seen Rocky before; I’m a sucker for cute animals. The mind joggles over that board. https://regionalcognisance.wordpress.com/2015/12/19/naughty-or-nice/

  5. Joggling boards always make me think of naughty children. My cousins and I used to line up on them and “joggle” them so violently that our bottoms (especially the people in the middle) would go flying up in the air, like we were little pancakes flipped by a spatula. Of course, our parents would scowl, and we’d bounce even higher.
