Woohooo! It’s officially spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and what an auspicious vernal equinox it has turned out to be, coinciding with both a solar eclipse and a supermoon. I’m so excited for the return of long days I can hardly contain my excitement, so this week’s travel theme is celebrating all things spring-y. First up, some funny little harbingers of spring, two fuzzy lambs grazing near the Rock of Cashel.
Next up, a photo of springtime in Seattle with cherry blossom lined streets and the occasional pink tulip tree.
Sticking with blossom, my all-time favourite flower, the shy and delicate wild primrose in all its pastel glory. This for me is the essence of springtime in Ireland.
Growing up in the countryside, I would wander through meadows filled with primroses in springtime, every so often spotting a rare clump of pink primroses. They were in far too remote a place to be crosses of cultivated varieties, they were the elusive wild pink primroses of Ireland. I haven’t seen them for many years but just yesterday, along a remote country lane in the county of Wexford, I spotted a clump of those rare pale pink primroses. What an amazing way to start off the spring.

It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want — oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so! – Mark Twain
Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush. ~Doug Larson
Nice pics down in my neck of the woods we are in Fall.
I guess Ireland will just be my forever dream place to visit in.

Lovin’ spring around here, especially in my own backyard: http://ohtheplaceswesee.com/2015/03/23/travel-theme-spring/
beautiful colors. not so much blossoming around here yet (and days are often cold and gray), but I found in park today another symbol of spring (in some parts of Europe, not in Belgium):
