Hot on the heels of my last post about my visit to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, I’ve got more glass to share. My favourite exhibit at the museum yesterday was the “Scapes” collection; the work of Venetian siblings Laura de Santillana and Alessandro Diaz de Santillana. It was spread over four rooms, with a nod to the Hindu belief that the universe exists in four separate spheres – Earth, Space, Sun and Moon & Constellations. I adored every single piece in the collection and if anyone has an obscene amount of money to spare, I would love at least one of the following works for my birthday [which is this week] 🙂
Aren’t they amazing? So now over to you for your interpretation of Glass. If you would like to join in this week’s travel theme (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Glass
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.
I raise a glass of something bubbly in anticipation of your posts!
