After last week’s darkly spooky nod to Hallowe’en, I think we need to brighten things up a little, so here are a few photos I found to get things rolling.
First up, some cheeky hummingbirds at a vivid red and yellow bird feeder in Utah. The feeder, however, cannot compete with the hummingbird’s shiny little eye and iridescent green feathers.
A burst of purple and yellow pansies at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens is guaranteed to brighten your day.
My favourite neon in New York is to be found on South Street, at the corner of Old Slip along the East River.
Quite possibly the brightest city in the world – you’ve guessed it – Las Vegas. It’s brash and tawdry and oh so bright.
Finally, one of the most beautiful quilts I’ve ever seen, in a little market in Santiago on the shores of Lake Atitlan. The yellow almost glows. Oh, how I wish I had bought it. I may have to return to try and find it.
So what bright delights have caught your eye? If you’d like to join in this week’s travel theme, here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel Theme: Bright
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes
Show me your brilliant brights.
