It recently rained in New York for the first time in ages, and offered up some wonderful opportunities to capture reflections in the pools of rainwater. Here are a few rainy day reflections of New York modes of transport.

Reflections – bike taxi driver in Times Square

Reflections – New York yellow cab

Reflections – New York bus, and another photographer with the same idea as me, facing off at the other end of the puddle!
As there has been no weekly photo challenge this week, I’d love to offer this up as a theme for anyone wanting to join in. Just title your post ‘Reflections’, tag it with ‘postaday’ and add a pingback to this page in your post. I’ll publish any pingbacks I get into the comments stream so anyone else who participates can find your entry too. I’d love to see your interpretations. Pass it on!
Here’s my Reflections post from my nature blog.

About ailsapm
Hi there! I’m Ailsa Prideaux-Mooney. I’ve lived in many places, and travelled to many more. I had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time. I climbed a castle wall in Czesky Krumlov, abseiled down cliffs to go caving in the west of Ireland, slept on the beach in Paros, got chased by a swarm of bees in Vourvourou (ok that wasn’t fun, but it was exciting), learned flower arranging in Tokyo, found myself in the middle of a riot in Seoul, learned to snowboard in Salzburg, got lost in a labyrinth in Budapest and had my ice cream stolen by a gull in Cornwall.
And I’m just getting started.
If you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read so far, I’d love you to follow my travelogue - wheresmybackpack.com - and remember, anyone who tries to tell you it’s a small world hasn’t tried to see it all.

How rude of me to forget to mention how much I enjoyed your photos!
LOL, how very rude 🙂 Lovely entry this week, Jeff. I had fun getting the Times Squares reflections – nearly got splashed several times before getting the shots I wanted. 🙂
Just call me Sir Jeff the Rude! 😀
I’ve had to deal with splashes quite often, usually because I’m standing in a stream at the base of a waterfall, and not because I’m dodging taxi’s in Times Square! You are way more brave than I am!
Harr, you speak the truth, Sir Jeff the Rude, those NY taxi drivers are a force to be reckoned with!
And people think I was in danger while photographing the mother black bear and her cubs that are in an earlier blog post of mine! That’s nothing compared to the terror you must have been experiencing 😉 The horror!
Yeah!!!! We don’t need Sarah any more. I like Ailsa’s challenges better 😀
LOL what have I started?
You have no idea 😀

Great photos and great challenge. Inititally I thought I already have the perfect photo but I have decided to take one specifically with this challenge in mind. I am not so good at doing that so it will make it even more of a challenge for me.
Hurrah, looking forward to your photo, Andrea – thanks for joining the party 🙂
