Full Moon Fever 11.11.11

It’s officially 11.11.11 in New York, and there’s a full moon to boot. I have got full moon fever, unless I’m having a reaction to the shots I just got for my upcoming visit to places with jungles. Whatever the cause of my restlessness, on the dot of midnight I climbed the stairs to the roof to have a peep at the full moon. As luck would have it, there’s been heavy cloud cover all evening…

Cloud-bedecked Manhattan from the rooftops

…and the moon has been tracing eerie outlines through the cloud cover…

Drawing crazy patterns on the clouds

…but for one fleeting moment a tiny crack appeared in the cloud cover, and the full moon broke through.

One small gap in the cloud cover, one giant glimpse of full moon for me.

Hello moon. I can rest easy now, knowing you’re there.

About ailsapm

Hi there! I’m Ailsa Prideaux-Mooney. I’ve lived in many places, and travelled to many more. I had a lot of fun getting there and being there, wherever there happened to be at the time. I climbed a castle wall in Czesky Krumlov, abseiled down cliffs to go caving in the west of Ireland, slept on the beach in Paros, got chased by a swarm of bees in Vourvourou (ok that wasn’t fun, but it was exciting), learned flower arranging in Tokyo, found myself in the middle of a riot in Seoul, learned to snowboard in Salzburg, got lost in a labyrinth in Budapest and had my ice cream stolen by a gull in Cornwall. And I’m just getting started. If you’ve enjoyed what you’ve read so far, I’d love you to follow my travelogue - wheresmybackpack.com - and remember, anyone who tries to tell you it’s a small world hasn’t tried to see it all.

Great shots. In second shot it seems like some kind of dino structure is there, isn’t it??

Now that you mention it, I can see a sort of dinosaur shape in there. I had a friend say that second picture reminded her of signalling for Batman 🙂 Glad you liked the photos.

Very cool! It’s been so long since I’ve visited Manhattan, and your photos made me smile and put me right there.

    • ailsapm says:

Hurrah, glad I caused you to smile, that’s always a good thing. I think Manhattan is at its loveliest at night, all lit up like a giant Christmas tree. xxx

  3. Does look like a movie. Great shots
