Yikes, what a week. With shock waves still reverberating around the world from Britain’s exit from the European Union, here’s a look at some rather less controversial exits from my travels around the planet. First up, the light at the end of a tunnel in Zion National Park.
Helping oil exit the ground, vast oilfields in California.
Once an exit, now half-submerged by the rising waters of Lake Atitlan.
Daylight shows the way out of Ape Cave at Mount St. Helens.
So if you don’t find the subject matter too way out (sorry, I couldn’t resist) then come up with your own interpretation of this week’s theme. If you would like to join in (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Exits
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday (unless, of course, I get locked out again!)
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.

I don’t believe in dying. It’s been done. I’m working on a new exit. Besides, I can’t die now – I’m booked. – George Burns
We do on stage the things that are supposed to happen off. Which is a kind of integrity, if you look on every exit being an entrance somewhere else. – Tom Stoppard (Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead)
