My new friends Guillermo and Cory, who I met on my first day in Antigua, have introduced me to the most exquisite coffee. Guillermo’s friend owns the El Injerto coffee plantation in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala, and their coffee is a Cup of Excellence first place award winner. After tasting it, I can see why. The mouthfeel of this coffee is extraordinarily rich, with flavours of chocolate and possibly plum (?) jumping out at me when I savoured my first sip of this smooth, aromatic coffee. My palate is nowhere near refined enough to spot subtler flavours but I know what I like and I like this. I am now the proud owner of two bags of this delicious and hard-to-come-by coffee which will keep me amped for weeks to come. Thanks guys!
