Halfway through my roadtrip across the US, I stayed with a friend’s family on a farm in Wisconsin. It was the coolest coincidence in the world for an Irish girl from Dublin to find herself staying in the little town of Erin on Dublin Road bang smack in the middle of America. I had to get a photo of this sign:
Then there were the signs along the highway in North Dakota, that provided some welcome comic relief from the everlasting flatness of the landscape.
But my favourite sign of recent days was the mystical sign painted on trees along a trail that led to a very strange and very lovely waterfall in upstate New York.
