After a stressful week and weekend, life is starting to calm down so I am filling this week’s theme with soothing intentions and zen-like serenity, starting off with a smooth, calm Puget Sound off the shore of Alki beach…
…and some more smooth sailing across Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.
I know lots of folks turn to yoga to find inner peace, but sweating en masse at the height of summer in the middle of Times Square is probably not going to help you find your zen.
Now this is more like it, an unexpected bamboo forest I happened upon by mistake.
For me, getting out into nature is a sure fire way to unwind. The sound of raindrops is an instant de-stresser and that delicious earthy scent you get after rain has fallen on dry ground, plus the sparkling raindrops on foliage make it a treat for all the senses.
Ah yes, I’m feeling positively tranquil, so I’m going to hand over to you to let you create your own serene and peaceful take on this week’s theme. If you would like to join in (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: Calm
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Watch out for the next travel theme which will come out next weekend
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS.
And breathe. Namaste.
