Fresh from tackling the slightly nerve-wracking and extremely high trail around Devil’s Elbow, I can think of no better theme for this week’s challenge than height. The first thing that springs to mind when I think of height are the towering redwoods of Northern California.
Then there’s the man-made height of New York’s Empire State Building, as viewed from the equally impressive Top of the Rock.
Sticking with the man-made, I’ve got to give a shout out to Seattle’s very own Space Needle. Here’s a very sparkly shot I took last New Year’s Eve.
And back to nature for the final photo, a giant Ceiba tree aka The Tree of Life in the heart of Tikal’s jungle in northern Guatemala. This tree was so tall I couldn’t get far enough away to fit it all in the frame.
Now it’s high time I handed it over to you for your take on this week’s theme. If you would like to join in the weekly travel theme (everyone’s welcome!) here’s what to do:
- Create your own post and title it Travel theme: High
- Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
- Get your post in by next Thursday, as the new travel theme comes out on Friday
- Don’t forget to subscribe to keep up to date on the latest weekly travel themes. Sign up via the email subscription link in the sidebar or RSS – I’m in the process of changing over to a new website host but will give you all a heads up when the changeover happens. If you’re following via email there won’t be a change but if you’re following via WordPress you will need to sign up for email or RSS.
So swing into high gear and show me your highest highs!
